Over the next 8 weeks I plan to release a blog post each week that talks about the RECOVERY path from the Celebrate Recovery Bible and workbooks that go with it. It is a very inspirational path that takes from some well known recovery programs and ideas and puts them into a Christian perspective. I encourage you if you are new to your recovery, or already in it, to read through this. It put a new light on some old ways.

If you have any songs you think would fit with the individual topics below, let me know in the comments section.

Principle I: Realize I’m not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable.

On My Knees – Jaci Velasquez

Principle II: Earnestly Believe That God Exists, That I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.

God’s Not Dead – Newsboys

Principle III: Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control.

Real Love – Hillsong Young and Free

Principle IV: Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, God, and to someone I trust.

Lord, I Need You – Matt Maher

Principle V: Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects.

You Are More – Tenth Avenue North

Principle VI: Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others, except when to do so would harm them or others.

Forgiveness – Matthew West

Principle VII: Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will.

Touch The Sky – Hillsong United

Principle VIII: Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and by my words.

God Is On The Move – 7eventh Time Down
