I’m Sorry…

… that we live in a day and age where blatant racism seems to be the norm.

… that white males think that it is ok to parade their racism in the face of the world.

… that we have a president in the oval office who refuses to repudiate the actions of white males in Charlottseville.

… that people died as a result of pure hatred.

… that a group of people who have obvious signs of insecurity have caused so much damage.

… that some live in fear because of insecure white privileged people.

… that my own white privilege has blinded me to the suffering of others when I felt it didn’t apply to me.

… it took me so long to see through that.

… I didn’t stand with others when I should have.

… that my one voice can’t help others as much as I would like.

… I’m sorry.
