Principle III: Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control.

One of the most important choices we have to make, as human beings, is whether or not we will follow Jesus and choose to commit our lives over to God. What is seemingly easy for some, can be a very difficult choice for others. We are submitting to God and admitting that He, not us, has complete control over our lives. For me personally, admitting I had zero control over the path my life would take, was so difficult. It meant I had to look towards the Higher Power, in my case God, and admit my powerlessness.

I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws.

Psalm 119:30

The thing that we often focus on is the lack of control we have over our path. We also need to see that with that powerlessness, comes comfort. We are also in Gods care. Although He has already set our lifes path, He also cares for us deeply, like no other love. When we submit to God, we are opening ourselves up to all He has to offer. Sobriety, strength to overcome challenges, unconditional love for others, and more. So, today, give your life over to God and welcome in all He has to offer.
