Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right.
We all struggle with temptations, none more than honesty and trustworthiness. We all run into situations where we like to tell little white lies with the thought that it helps someone else. I find myself in this predicament from time to time. Trying to make someone else feel good with a white lie. But what good does that do? How does it really help that person to hear a false message?
Lies are exactly that, lies. No matter which way you spin it, you are not being honest, therefore not trustworthy. As Christians we are charged with carrying an honest and trustworthy message from God Himself. We can not begin to expect for others to receive our message of hope, prosperity, and eternal life if we can’t be truthful about the tiniest of things.
Go forward being honest with everyone, including yourself. You will do much more good in the world if you are honest about everything.
Lord, please guide me through my journey of spreading Your Word with the utmost honesty and respect. Please allow me to be strong when it comes to telling little white lies to people, because in the end, You are the one we are trying to please, not each other.
